have you heard of Alt Summit?

If you've ever been interested in growing your blog, getting better at photography or graphic design, or just learning more about and improving yourself, then I'd head to the Alt Summit Channel and check it out! They're currently offering incredibly cheap (just $15!) and sometimes even FREE online classes on improving your blog, brand, and skills. It's pretty awesome, especially to someone like me, whose whole creative outlet is this little blog here. They have DSLR 101 and 201 classes, Graphic Design and Photoshop for Bloggers, and even classes on finding your niche and improving blog content. So cool, right? Bing (#thanksbing) is even offering two free classes to people who get the word out about the Alt Summit Channel, so you can try some classes out for free, and then, if you like what you learn, come back for more. Let me know if you try any, and what you thought about them!

lily's got the moves like jagger.

Lily loves music, and recently she's been testing out her sweet dance moves. Sadly we started filming after her real rocking out took place. Her signature move is when she gets down low and sways back and forth. I love how easily distracted she gets. She clearly gets her awesome sense of rhythm (and her attention span) from me ;) I also love her impassioned battle cry in the middle. Rock on, baby girl. Rock on.

dear lily,

Thank you for your sweetness today. I really needed it. Somehow you understood that it was an "off" day, and you played happily by yourself, coming to check on me on the couch every now and then. You'd bop me on the head, point at my eye, then rest your head against mine and lean in for a kiss. Those kisses kept me going today. This morning I tickled your arm as you sat watching TV with me. Later, you came up to me and rubbed your hand up and down my arm. I realized you were trying to give me tickles too. We had a lot of fun when Dad got home today. He ran you back and forth and jumped out to scare you, and you laughed and laughed and yelled at him to run you around again. I just want to tell you how special you are to us. You made this no-good, rotten day, wonderful somehow. I love you more than I can say.

15 months.

Lily turned 15 months on Sunday. She is pretty quick on her feet and can run away from us now. She demonstrated this today when I took her to Barnes & Noble, and she proceeded to knock books off the shelf, look at me, and then run in the opposite direction. Tricky girl. She will also run at us with a big smile on her face when we open our arms for a hug. It is the best sight to see.

Blurry cause she's always on the move (and talking, of course)

She understands us so well it surprises me sometimes. She'll fetch things when I ask her, recognizes animals and other pictures, and she knows when she's not supposed to do something. She seems to always get a sly, mischievous look on her face when she's caught. It makes me laugh, even as I'm trying to be stern.

She loves food of any kind. In Florida, Cole's family sat around her high chair marveling at the quantity and variety of things she'd eat. Lily loved all the new people who would slip her all kinds of new treats. Her ears are fine-tuned to the crinkle of wrappers, the clink of utensils on dishes, and the sound of a toaster popping.

She covers her eyes with her hands and hides behind curtains to play Peekaboo. She will also occasionally blow kisses.

Oh those eyebrows. Little Miss Attitude knows how to work 'em.

She LOVES the water. The beach, the pool, a faucet, the bath. She has a view of our apartment pool from her window, and she'll cry to be taken outside to it.

She hugs her stuffed animals and gives them kisses, and holds phones up to her ear and pretends to talk.

Her vocabulary consists of "Hi!," "Uh oh!," and "Thank You!"

Her hair is pretty awesome. I can't believe how long it's getting.

She loves playing catch and will back herself into our laps, sit down, and laugh as we bounce a ball off the wall. Happy 15 months! We love you like crazy, Crazy! :)

florida trip via my iphone.

This trip was too fun for words, so I'm just going to show you some of the many pictures we took with our iPhones. Suffice it to say that we ate a lot of delicious food prepared by our personal chefs for the week, Kyle and Roxanne (pictured below), we went to the beach, found a dead sea turtle, played many many games, stayed up way too late, Lily couldn't get enough of her cousin, and we attended a beautiful baby blessing for our new nephew. And yes, to top it all off, there was a Hulk sighting. Thanks Ballard family! We miss you all so much already.
