Nesting and other developments

Some maternity stats:

We had a doctor's appointment today, and I'm happy to report that baby Ballard packed on the pounds for me (I think it's all the donuts I've been eating, seriously) and @ 33 weeks, 6 days she is measuring 33 weeks, 4 days and 4 lbs. 11 oz! I'm at 118 lbs. for a total weight gain of 23 lbs. Two weeks ago baby girl was only measuring at 27 weeks, so I'm relieved and even more excited now that my due date is still March 10th! I think I've hit the nesting phase, and slowly but surely I'm cleaning out her room. Only 6 weeks to go. So far she's been easy on her mama. Now I'm just going to use the Secret to will lots of thick, black hair onto her little, mostly-bald head.

The loft is almost there. Kinda, sorta.

Yesterday was filled with all my favorite things! I ate out every meal, spent quality time with Cole, talked with my family, had banana cream pie with friends, and...watched Borat edited? (This was Cole's request). I also got spoiled rotten by Cole + family. Through a combination of Christmas and birthday money, I bought myself this beauty of a diaper bag:

and this camera:

And to top it all off, my thoughtful (and sneaky) husband tricked me into thinking he was getting me the above diaper bag, and instead surprised me with this!:

Yes, the title of this post pretty much sums it up! Thanks to everyone for the great day and the Facebook birthday love!

handy man.

After church on Sunday, we decided to put up the baby's crib, and when I say "we," I mean Cole did all the work and I took pictures. This may not be very exciting for most of you, but I thought it was a momentous occasion. Did I mention we found this crib on Craigslist for half off the original price?! And we are so happy with it. Now all we need is our baby!

Man, my hubby's handsome!

Here she is!

holidays in utah

Christmas with Cole's family is the best! I got very few pictures because I was too busy having fun, but some of the highlights were:

  • Piling the whole family into the 15-passenger van on Christmas eve, singing carols at the top of our lungs, eating at Teppanyaki (Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra!), and arguing about which lights were new at the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights
  • Watching all the kids open their presents on Christmas morning
  • Good food and sleeping in
  • Games night with the Kimballs and the rest of the Payson High crew
  • Horseback riding at 30 weeks pregnant (don't worry, I took it reeeal slow)
  • Getting Christmas presents addressed to "Baby Lily"
  • Seeing friends and family at my baby shower at Spark restaurant
  • Playing Bingo until 3 a.m. on New Year's Eve with Cole's family

And some pictures to go along:

Cole's mom does the most beautiful Christmas trees (thanks for the pics, Martha!)

Cole looking quite festive and a midnight smooch

Old friends and roommates at my baby shower. Sadly this is the only photo I got from it, but many loved ones braved the white out and icy roads to come. I love my family and friends!

And finally, 30 wks exactly. So soon!
