Not gonna lie...

I've discovered a few things lately:

1. My husband pointed out that I like to write in lists. I can't help it--easier to write, easier to read, n'est-ce pas?

2. Marriage is hard--not that I'm complaining. I've always heard rumors that it could be, but it's been verified. However, I'm also of the opinion that most people's natural inclination is to love one another. Maybe that's the hippy inside me wanting to break out and dance barefoot on the grass, hugging anything within arms reach, but I love my husband. I love how even if we've been fighting, which we do from time-to-time (shocker), he'll still find my hand and hold it in the middle of the night. Like I said, humankind's natural desire is for love. Believe it!

3. While strolling through Bath & Body Works today, I noticed that many of the fragrance names could actually double as names of 60s-rock-band-groupies (i.e. Vanilla Noir, Sensual Amber, and Butterfly Flower). This observation probably stems from my secret desire to be Penny Lane from the movie Almost Famous (minus the stomach pumping). So if I ever do run off to follow some band around the country, I can thank Bath & Body Works for my rockin' persona.

B.Y.O.M.!

This past Saturday Cole and I went BBQing with Kelli and Derek at Canyon Glen Park. It was so much fun! The weather was beautiful and there's nothing better than a fresh, juicy burger with some processed cheese food to top it off. Yum! The Hills were so kind to bring pretty much everything and Cole and I just supplied our own meat. It was my favorite part of the weekend. We'll definitely have to do it again!

"Why do you let me stay here all by myself?"-She & Him

Mi amor is gone again tonight, so here I am. Jess and I went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then to the mall where we window-shopped and drooled over barrels of candy at The Candy Barrel. Jess would say, "Oh! Do you remember this candy from when we were kids?!" and I would say, "Actually, no." It was nostalgic. Speaking of nostalgia, I've had Queen stuck in my head for days now so here is my list of recent listens:

1. Queen {The whole Greatest Hits album}
2. Bad Company {Feel Like Makin' Love}
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers {Fight Like a Brave}
4. Elton John {Rocket Man}
5. Lady GaGa {Just Dance}
6. The Kooks {Naive}
7. She & Him {Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?}
8. Feist {My Moon My Man}

the grass is always greener...

Today was a good day. Despite the fact that I got my grades back from last semester, which were subpar, the government cut me a big ol' fat check for my tax return. If Obama's trying to buy my love, he can have it. I will sell out. Also in the mail was a package with these pictures from Cole and I's post-marriage engagement session with our awesome photographer, Lindsey. Here they are for your viewing pleasure:
